About me
I’m often asked what my subject of choice is. I classify myself as a portrait photographer- but that doesn't mean I only photograph people.
Portraits can be found in the strangest places; the haunting image of an abandoned primary school paints a vivid picture into the past. A construction site, frozen in time; the evidence of its foundations embedded within my images.
With the absence of a traditional subject, I explore compelling ways to breathe life into my images. Light is integral to the art of photography- the word itself comes from the Greek translation drawing with light. Through an understanding of camera mechanics, I create beautiful atmospheres, fabricated both in-camera and with physical effects- with light at the center of my process.
